Weed Control FAQ

How does weed control work?

The majority of our customers come to us once their property has been covered with weeds and no mechanical (hand picking) effort solves the problem.

At this point we provide an application of a systemic or contact herbicide to kill existing growth and a pre-emergent herbicide is applied to stop seeds as they germinate.

The key to control is application of “Pre-Emergent” at the proper time to prevent future growth.

Finally, weed control is “cumulative”…as weed growth is reduced so is the seed source that caused the problem in the first place.

Do I have to water in the pre-emergent?

NO!  Unlike most companies, Complete Pest Management applies the pre-emergent with a sufficient amount of water to activate the product. We will set up your program for optimal timing of your services.

Do you guarantee your service?

Yes, after a complete pre-emergent application has been installed on your property. There are a few a noted exceptions, Sedges, Bermuda and Johnson grass, fountain grass along with desert broom and tree seedlings are not guaranteed.

I have weeds in my flower beds and under my shrubs.

We cannot safely apply herbicides to flower beds nor in or around trees and shrubs. These will have to be manually removed.  We do not remove weeds!
